The Under 13s Machine Rolls On
Darwen u13s made it 6 wins out of 6. East Lancs made 86 for 5 but the Towers knocked them off for 6 with Harry Campbell steering the team home 31 not out.
Under 11s League Cup Final - Sunday 28th June
Darwen u11s beat Rishton in the league cup final on Sunday at Birch Hall. They are awaiting other results to see who they play in the Champions League.

Under 13s On A Roll
Darwen make it 5 wins in five matches, at the half way stage of the league season.
Accrington 91
Darwen 130 for 2 (H Campbell 32no, C Mulcone 31no and D Ainslie 31no)
Colne 103 for 8 (Z Goldthorpe 3-11, R Davies 2-13)
Darwen 104 for 2 (H Campbell 30no, C Mulcone 19no and R Davies 14no)

Under 13s Semi-Final - Sunday 21st June
Darwen lost narrowly to Rainhill in a close match. The home side batted first and amassed a competitive score of 113 for 8 from their 20 overs.
In reply Darwen were always on course for victory, with Harry Campbell having to retire on 30 and Reece Davies well caught for a patient 29. Heavy rain during the second innings meant the conditions for both teams were difficult. The loss of several late wickets, combined with not scoring enough runs, meant Darwen fell 4 runs short on 109 for 9. The lads can be proud of the performance and progression in the competition, which coincidently means losing out in the County semi final again, which was the case two years ago when the same group of players played in the Under 11’s competition.
Back to the league campaign and 3 games in 5 days, which hopefully will see us consolidate our position at the top of the league
Under 13s Throught to Last Four - Sunday 21st June
The Under 13's beat Leigh on Sunday 14th June, to go into the LCB Semi Final (last 4 in Lancs) to play Rainhill away on 21st June.

Harry Campbell is definitley one to watch now and for the future. Following his star performance against Leigh he has also been impressing in the
fourth team with both bat and ball. Harry also has been selected to play for England at football against Scotland.

Under 13s Throught to Last Eight
Two wins in three days have meant that Darwen under 13s are through to the last 8 in Lancashire and have an home tie with Leigh CC on Sunday 14th June start 930.
Wins lately against Accrington and Church have guaranteed them as winners of the Lancashire League Section.
The victory over Accrington was comfortable but the game against Church was more difficult.
In the local final against Church the opposition scored 99, although 24 of these runs came from extras, (no-balls and wides) much to the frustration of the local supporters. Darwen looked to be struggling after the loss of early wickets but useful contributions in the middle order from Darius Ainslie and Reece Davies gave the side an outside chance. Josh Wickers was the hero of the hour by coming to the crease and hitting a 4 and 6 from consecutive overs, to steer the side to victory.
Under 15s in Area Final
The U15s team are now in the area final at Haslingden on Wednesday 20th May.

PRACTICE NIGHTS
Practice nights for u9s, u11s and u13s will take place on Wednesday evenings 6.30pm till 8.00pm starting on the 6th May and will finish on the 12th August.
We would please ask that wherever possible children are accompanied to practice, but if they are left unattended on the ground could we ask for prompt collection as the gates are locked after practice and we cannot take responsibility for leaving children outside the ground who are waiting to be collected.
As in previous years if the weather is bad or the ground unfit then the gates will remain locked and practice will be cancelled for safety reasons.
All children selected to play in the teams will be asked for £1.00 team subs at their games by the team managers.
This year sees the introduction of a new 11 a side u13s league which we have opted to join, so our u13s team will not be playing pairs cricket this season.
Under 15s are invited to practice on Thursday evenings 6.30pm onwards with the senior team members.

In Memory of Albert Pawson
Albert Pawson was a well known milkman in Darwen and when he passed away in winter his family asked for donations to many charities but also included Darwen cricket club juniors. One of Alberts grandsons Kallum is a member of the u15s team and we were asked if we could supply shirts for the u15s team with the money and the surplus to be put towards winter training sessions. On Wednesday before the Bacup game we held a small presentation ceramony on Sandy Lane where Gary Jackson presented the team with their shirts. The shirts are embroidered with the Darwen logo and have "In memory of Albert Pawson" on.
On behalf of Darwen Cricket Club and the juniors I would like to thank Mrs Pawson and her family for their kind donation towards the club. Kallum is pictured in the centre on the front row.

Lancashire U11s Girls
The first ever girls u11s county match took place on Sunday 13th July at Rainford CC. Lancashire lost to Yorkshire by 5 runs. Darwen were
representated by Abbie Culshaw (far left) and Jamie Leigh Prescott (far right), also picture Hannah Knowles of East Lancs (center).
